What's New
  The Internet 240z Club

Well, thanks for stopping by the "What's New" area.  We are currently working on our new format and have been making substantial changes since February, 2000.  Keep checking back and you'll see more in-depth additions to our What's New page.

April 3, 2000
  • Looks like our server went down over the weekend.  I can attribute the problems to a lack of RAM -- it only has 64MB at this time.
  • Called around for RAM prices.  RAM is back down in price and VERY affordable.  Bought two 128MB modules today for $220!
  • Installed RAM in the server.  We now have a grand total of 256MB and should see less memory-related problems.
  • Also contacted REGISTER.COM today.  They will be hosting our domain name.  Moved it last week from Network Solutions to their servers.
  • If you are considering registering a domain name, do it through register.com, they give you a lot of control over the domain information.  Check 'em out.

March 28, 2000
  • Sure enough, some people are still having troubles with our DNS name lookup.  Not sure exactly why this is the case, but, our service provider is looking into the situation.
  • My apologies for the problems.  It's out of my hands.
  • As far as the site, we have had more activity in the bulletin board and I'm excited to show off our picture of the Z concept vehicle on our start page.  Some people don't like the vehicle itself, but I thought the image was appropriate.

March 27, 2000
  • Looks like a few people were having troubles accessing the site during the weekend.  I have determined that this is due to a DNS propagation issue.  I modified www.240z.org's pointer to our new server on Thursday.  Therefore, some DNS servers might not have been updated during the weekend.
  • This issue should be fixed now.  Since we are now 3-4 days after our change, all DNS servers should be up to date.
  • After some more responses telling me that the domain is not working, I have sent a request to our ISP to fix this problem.

March 24, 2000
  • The new server is working great.
  • More users have been utilizing our Bulletin Board.  This is very good news - considering the price I had to pay for the software and the time it took to program.  :)
  • I am very excited to see the new changes work so well.  Load times are much faster and we are receiving great feedback from members.
  • Added a *TON* of new links to our links page.

March 23, 2000
  • Our new format placed online.  DNS server modified to point to our new Pentium 3 server at Mike's office.  :)
  • The DNS should take about 24 hours to propagate down through the Internet domain servers.

Feel free to read-up on some of our OLD entries:

Saturday - February 20, 1999

  • You'll notice that the pages are now loading faster!
  • Worked on the web site with the new theme.
  • Added more pages and prepared site for upload to the server.
  • Watched the rain and cloudy weather out of my home office window.  I sure wish summer was here.  Don't you?
  • Anyway, worked for a good part of the day on the web site and even went through all of the Tips & Tricks area.

Saturday - February 14, 1999

  • Worked with a few others this week to revise the Frontpage Theme.  The old theme had very large graphics and took too long to load.
  • Let's give a special thanks to Brian Beatty and Paul Vineburg for their help making this process possible.
  • Re-created the site using this new theme and re-worked the layout a little more.

Sunday - January 31, 1999

  • Screwed around with the site a little more this evening.
  • I can't get used to this new keyboard, the keys are a lot smaller than my old one!  :-)
  • Uploaded the new site to the server.   Tested it.
  • It loads a little slow because the graphics are so nice.  I apologize about this and will work on reducing the image size.
  • Decided to cut out a little early and go to bed at a decent hour.

Saturday - January 30, 1999

  • Cleaned up the site and added more pages.
  • I can't forget the hard work that went into the Tips & Tricks pages.
  • Therefore, I need to spend some more time on the site.  I can't leave the tips out in the cold.
  • I also added links to our Public Forum pages located on our server "Fairlady."  She can't be left out!
  • Need to also add a banner page for Jeff Will and Classic Consoles.
  • I also need to get a new keyboard.  I broke the space-bar last weekend while playing "Half-Life."  If you are an avid gamer (and have P2-300 minimum)... you should try it.  It's the best 1st-person game to date.

Saturday - January 23, 1999

  • Reworked the web site once again.
  • I decided to go with a more friendly theme and appearance.
  • This time, the theme is a little easier to read and contains black text on a light background.  This theme will stay around quite a bit longer.
  • I also believe that this them looks a little more professional.

Saturday - January 16, 1999

  • Reworked the web site today.  I've had a few complaints about the navigation.  Therefore, I decided to make the site easier to read, navigate, and use.
  • A few weeks ago I added forums to the site.  But, I didn't add the links at that time.  Right now, you will find more public forums and discussion links directly from the navigation menu.
  • We now have a "For Sale, Tips & Tricks, and Events" forum area.  Check them out.  You'll like what I've done to the place.
  • The Z-Car Microfiche CDROM is still being finished.  Taking on a project of this magnitude is quite a challenge.  But, I'm sure it will all pay off in the end.  You guys are gonna love this thing.
  • Anyway, I hope you all like the site.   Send me some comments if you have any ideas.  We also have volunteers working on some of the other pieces to the site (member photos and other such things).
